Kavoretti is an online store operated by MERSEYSIDE SALVAGE LTD. This page explains what information we handle when you browse kavoretti.shop, place an order, or get in touch with us, and what choices you have about that information.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to kavoretti.shop and to the information we handle as the seller of the products listed on it. It does not cover websites or services run by other companies, including the platform, payment, and delivery providers we rely on to run the store. Those providers handle personal information under their own privacy notices.
The store is operated by MERSEYSIDE SALVAGE LTD, 20 Bridge Street, Bootle, England, L20 8AL, United Kingdom. We sell to customers in North America, Europe, and Australia.
Information you give us
Most of what we know about you comes directly from you, because an order or an enquiry cannot be completed without it.
- Contact and address details — your name, email address, telephone number, and the billing and delivery addresses you enter at checkout or send to us.
- Order details — the products you ordered, order value, delivery preferences, and any return, refund, or replacement request you raise with us.
- Correspondence — the content of messages you send to our support inbox, including any details you choose to include about an order or a delivery problem.
- Marketing sign-ups — your email address and, where offered, your stated preferences, if you choose to hear from us.
If the store offers account creation and you choose to use it, we also hold the account details needed to keep that account working, such as your login email and order history.
Order and payment information
To process an order we need to know what was bought, its value, where it should be sent, and whether it has been paid. That information is created in the course of your order and kept with your order record, together with any subsequent delivery, cancellation, return, or refund activity.
Payment is completed through the payment methods shown at checkout, and those payments are handled by the relevant payment providers. We receive confirmation that an order has been paid and the related transaction details; we do not receive or keep your full card number or card security code.
Information collected automatically
When you browse the store, some information is generated automatically by your device and our store platform. This typically includes your IP address, device and browser type, the page or source that referred you, the pages and products you view, your searches on the store, and your interactions with the cart and checkout.
We use cookies and similar technologies to support this, as explained further below. We do not use every type of tracking described in this policy unless the corresponding feature or tool is active on the store at the time you visit.
How we use your information
We use personal information to run the store and to complete the things you have asked us to do. In practice, that means:
- accepting and processing your order, taking payment, and issuing refunds;
- arranging delivery and keeping you informed about it;
- handling returns, exchanges, and after-sales questions;
- answering enquiries sent to our support inbox;
- keeping the store and customer accounts secure and helping to detect fraudulent or abusive activity;
- maintaining business records, including records we are required to keep by tax and accounting rules;
- understanding how the store is used so that we can fix problems and improve pages, search, and checkout;
- sending marketing emails, but only where you have asked to receive them.
Some of these uses are necessary to fulfil an order or to keep the store secure: without order and address details, for example, we cannot deliver anything. Other uses — such as measuring how the store is used or sending marketing — are optional. Where the law requires your consent for those optional uses, we rely on the consent you give through the store’s cookie banner or preferences, or through your marketing sign-up, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Who we share information with
We disclose personal information only where it is needed to run the store, where you have authorised it, or where the law requires it. The main recipients are:
- Our store platform. kavoretti.shop runs on Shopify, which processes information connected with your visit and orders as part of providing the platform. Shopify handles that information under its own privacy notice, which you can read here: Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy. Shopify’s obligations are its own; ours are described on this page.
- Payment providers. The providers behind the payment methods you choose at checkout process your payment and receive the information needed to do so.
- Delivery providers. The carrier or postal service delivering your order receives the name, address, contact details, and order information needed to complete the delivery.
- Service providers supporting the store. Where we use specialist providers for functions such as email delivery or technical support, they receive only the information required for that function and are expected to handle it properly.
- Legal and protective disclosures. We may disclose information where we are required to by law or a valid legal request, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of our customers, the store, or our company.
- Business changes. If the business or its assets are reorganised, transferred, or sold, customer information may form part of what is transferred, subject to the same protections described here.
Where information may be processed
Because we sell to customers in North America, Europe, and Australia and rely on established platform, payment, and delivery providers, the information connected with your order may be processed in a country other than the one you are ordering from. Where this happens, we expect those providers to apply appropriate safeguards for the information they handle.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files placed on your device, and similar technologies such as pixels and local storage work in comparable ways. They help the store function and help us understand how it is being used. Depending on which features are active when you visit, the store may use:
- Strictly necessary cookies — needed to keep the store secure and to remember your cart, your session, and your progress through checkout.
- Preference cookies — used to remember choices such as your region or currency.
- Analytics cookies — used to understand which pages and features are working well and which are not.
- Marketing cookies — used, where enabled and where consent has been obtained, to measure or support advertising for the store.
You can accept, refuse, or change your choices for non-essential cookies through the store’s cookie banner or privacy preferences, where these are available. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, but please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies can affect the cart, sign-in, and checkout and may stop you from completing an order. Disabling cookies will not necessarily prevent all tracking, and we cannot control technologies set by third parties outside our store.
For general information about how Shopify uses cookies across the stores it powers, see the Shopify Cookie Policy. That policy explains Shopify’s own practices; it is not a list of the apps, pixels, or other technologies installed on this particular store.
How long we keep information, and how we protect it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, for as long as we need the related business record, or for as long as we need it to resolve a dispute or meet a legal, tax, or accounting obligation. When information is no longer needed for those purposes, we remove it or arrange for it to be deleted. Order and transaction records are generally kept longer than browsing information, because we may need to refer to them after a purchase.
We take reasonable technical, organisational, and administrative measures that are appropriate to the size of our business and the information we handle. These include limiting who can access customer information and requiring the providers we work with to handle it properly. At the same time, no method of sending information over the internet or storing it electronically can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without authorisation.
Your choices and requests
You can always choose not to provide information, though some of it is required to place an order or to receive a reply from us.
- Marketing emails. If you have signed up to hear from us, you can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email, or by writing to us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop service messages about an order you have placed.
- Cookies and optional tracking. Use the store’s cookie banner or privacy preferences to change your choices for non-essential cookies, or your browser settings as described above.
- Information requests. Depending on where you live and the law that applies to you, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to ask us to delete information, to receive certain information in a portable format, to object to or ask us to limit particular uses, or to withdraw consent you previously gave. These rights are not unlimited, and some information may need to be retained for legal or record-keeping reasons.
To make a request, email merseyside@kavoretti.shop and tell us what you would like us to do. So that we do not disclose or change the wrong person’s information, we may ask you for reasonable confirmation of your identity or of the order concerned before we act on the request. We will explain any limits that apply to your request when we respond.
Children, and changes to this policy
The store is intended for adults buying products for themselves or their household, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to the store, please write to us at the address below so that we can look into it and remove the information where appropriate.
We may update this policy when our store, the services we use, or the legal requirements that apply to us change. The version published on this page is the one that applies to your use of the store.
